Enjoy the serenity, peace and quiet, the natural surroundings the thoughtful community church services and the historic workmanship in the building.

St Olave's church is in Gatcombe. It's a small church, with a long history. As my parents were married there, I had fun matching some of my photo angles with their wedding photos (not included here).
It was lovely to find the church open, it was deeply peaceful, and an opportunity to pray in a stillness only broken by birdsong.

St Olaves "Olaf" , Gatcombe..
Ghost dogs, medieval stained glass and H.M.S. Thunderer who fought alongside H.M.S. Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.. Oh not forgetting Lucy Lightfoot and time travel..

It is worth visiting, very well preserved in terms of nature, one of the few places in isle of wight where you can breathe 100 percent clean air .
